Volship - The Basics

  • I am Gautham from Volunteer For India. We are a Pan Indian Organisation working towards enabling “Every Indian to Volunteer
  • I am a Project Leader at Volunteer for India in Trivandrum.
  • We are part of a Fellowship Program at VFI called VOLSHIP.
  • VOLSHIP is also supported by Bhumi & YUWAAH at UNICEF

Volunteer for India is a registered NGO that’s working towards the vision of enabling ‘Every Indian to Volunteer’. VFI is a cause agnostic organization that is focused on promoting volunteering, primarily through it’s flagship program, the Volship Fellowship. Volunteer for India is a pan Indian NGO that currently works in 56 cities across India.

Volship is India’s Largest Volunteer Leadership Fellowship that enables Changemakers like myself to design and work on projects aimed at tackling social issues that I am passionate about. Volship is an initiative of Volunteer for India and is supported by Bhumi and YuWaah (Generation Unlimited India) at UNICEF.

Your volunteers will identify themselves as Volunteer for India (your city) Volunteer. For example, if your project is in Chennai, your volunteer will be ‘Volunteer for India Chennai Volunteer‘.

Collaboration Guide

Collaboration is at the core of Volship because we believe that collective efforts create greater impact. By working together—whether with peers, mentors, or community members—we combine diverse perspectives, skills, and ideas to address complex challenges more effectively. Collaboration fosters trust, inclusivity, and shared ownership, enabling sustainable solutions and stronger communities. As Volship Fellows, embracing collaboration not only amplifies the reach of your projects but also builds lasting connections that inspire change beyond the fellowship. Together, we achieve more!
